The time is now:
An ICT Institution
of choice
Inspired by the CIDA City Campus, T-Systems South Africa spearheaded the
development of a world-class specialist ICT (Information and Communications
Technology) training facility to address the skills shortage within the
ICT industry in South Africa. The ICT Academy offers internationally recognised
ICT qualifications:
- CompTIA entry level certificates (ICDL, A+ and N+)
- SUN Microsystems' Java Programmer and; SUNSolaris System Admin, Network
Admin and Security Admin
- CISCO CCNA and FWLAN
- SAP HR and Business-1 certificates
Corporate Sponsorship
and Involvement
The ICT Academy works closely with its corporate partners. From an initial
investment of R4 million by T-Systems, in partnership with German investment
and development organisation DEG, support and infrastructure has grown.
The Partners play a crucial role in the Academy: they lend their expertise
to provide the basis for the curriculae and administration of the Academy,
and supply certification to the students.
Please visit the partners
page to see all the corporate partners that make this initiative possible.
A brief History of
the Academy
The ICT Academy started in 2003 and has since certified over 750 graduates.
Leading companies have given their backing and students are groomed to enter
the workplace with highly sought after international qualifications.
Candidates are selected from a pool of students at CIDA City Campus. Attendance
requirements are tough – students must study for their ICT certificates
in tandem with their CIDA BBA degree.
The ICT Academy continues to inspire South Africa with its magnificent
approach to economic development: the same students who arrive at CIDA with
no previous computer experience can graduate after 4 years ready for jobs
from programming to networking to SAP consultancy.

The ICT Academy is devoted to preparing the students to be productive members
of the South African economy and; importantly, the societies in which they
come from. Meet the people
